Frozen shoulder

The shoulder consists of the upper arm, shoulder blade and collarbone. The shoulder capsule, a thick and tight connective tissue, holds the joint together. Frozen shoulder, also known as adhesive capsulitis, causes scar tissue formation and reduced synovial fluid, which restrict movement in the shoulder joint. As the shoulder becomes more painful, the use of the shoulder decreases, which results in a thicker shoulder capsule and a feeling of it to be “frozen” in place. This condition is characterised by gradual pain and stiffness. Chiropractic care helps to heal and prevent (recurrence of) frozen shoulder.
